...well sort of.
A lot of people ask me when they drop by if I'm playing or running anything at the moment, and the sad truth is that I'm not really. It's a time thing, and that's a problem all too many of us are all too familiar with.
This however isn't about that. This is a post to let you know what I AM doing these days, so here we go.
I've been playing a lot of a little puzzle game with my partner's 8 year old son and enjoying that. Babylone (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/7553 [1]) takes less than 5 minutes to play and has enough depth to keep him happy and distract me for a while.
We also wrote a little skirmish game together and soon enough I'll have gotten that turned into something cool with characters ;)
Ah, now characters leads us to the biggie. Roleplaying...
Well myself, my partner's 2 sons and a couple of their friends are about to make a start on some old Red Box D&D. Yup, Elmore box art and all, this is going to be great. I'm going to introduce them to Bargle, and then I'm going to let them loose on the world to hunt him down. He deserves it after what he did...
Then there's the "Big Project" that I'm working on. As some of you know and some of you have even played in, I've been running an epic WFRP campaign for years now. It all wound up in a grand climax after almost 12 years constant gaming and most people thought that was it. The Storm of Chaos had happened, the PC's had survived and even gained noble rank. Everything was good and happy.
Except its not finished. Currently I'm working on the final part of my epic and as plots go its a doozie. Oh and it'll take about 6 years to run, so plotting it is going to be a lot of work. (It's going to be good though. Even better than the last 2 parts...)
Then there's a contemporary horror game I'm working on that centres on an appartment block where the PC's all live. I won't say more than that, except to say that its another doozie of a game.
Battlestar Galactica might make an outing next year if I can get my 2 season arc written up and find some time to sit down and work out the details. Ooooh I'm gonna have fun with this one...
The old WEG Star Wars may see the dust blown off the covers as well if the D&D thing with the kids works out. They love Star Wars too much to NOT run that for them.
So all in all I'm not doing a whole lot of playing right now, but I am still up to my neck in gaming.
Now if only I could find the time to actually PLAY some games it could be even better ;)
