Today is Battle of Britain day.
Winston Churchill summed up the effect of the battle and the contribution of Fighter Command with the words, "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few."
Don't forget those who served and died to give you the freedoms you now have.

I'm ahamed to admit that I forget to mention the contributions given freely by other nationalities who flew and fought with the RAF such as the Poles, the Czechs, the Americans and others
the American flyers especially came and volunteered when they had no need to, their country had not been invaded and tehy were not even at war with Germany at this time
We owe everyone, not just the pilots of every nation that flew but also all the ground crew and support network that made it possible for those pilots to do the job they did.
Without all the people who contributed to the Battle of Britain in one way or another, no matter how large or small a part they played, the war would have been very different.
Churchill was right and we should all remember how much we owe all those people and how much we still owe them for the freedoms we have today.
Thank you to you all.

I am your gaming god, in my temple of Geek.
Absolutely true Liam,
We all owe a huge debt of gratitude that can NEVER be repaid to the brave men (and women) of the RAF and British Forces that
fought against the Nazis in order that we might live.
Difficult to put into words really, our world is so different by comparison but only because they made it so
