Thought I'd post the information we received from Wizards about the Store Challenge Final in October and how the points work. Keep an eye on the website for information about more Store Champs running at Black Lion.
Each Store Challenge will give Challenge Series points to its participants according to the following scale. These determine the invitations to the Challenge Series Final, and also determine the Store Champions during the Final.
Finish Points
1st 5
2nd 3
3rd-4th 2
5th and lower 1
Anyone receiving a total of five points from Store Challenge Series tournaments will get invited to the Store Challenge Series Final on Saturday 20th October. Every five points a player earns beyond his first five will get him 10 boosters when he shows up to the Final.
Players who finish first in a Challenge Series (thus earning five points) will be the Store Champion for that store. At the Store Challenge Final, these players will compete as representatives of the store they are Champion of; those that gain points for an invite without winning a Challenge will not have a store affiliation. The Champions then have a chance to earn prizes for their store depending on how high they finish in the Final.
In the case of a player winning Challenges at multiple different stores, the player is considered the Store Champion of the first store he won a Challenge in.
Each player who played in 10 matches across the store challenge series, will receive a 10th edition deckbox with 1 booster.
Each player who played in 20 matches across the store challenge series, will receive a 10th edition deckbox with 3 boosters
Black Lion will be running a further two Store Champs in store on:
Monday 20th August, and
Monday 10th September
The series final is on the 20th September giving those who place highly enough a chance to practice before the big competition.
These tournaments will start at 6:30 promptly and cost £10 which will give each player 5 10th ed boosters with which to construct a deck and this will be counted as part of the Gateway league.
