LARP

Submitted by eurmalian on 8 June 2007 - 9:12pm.

OK, now that the playtests are done with I am going to be running a LARP in Edinburgh aproximately once a month. All the details are up on www.figureheadsandfootnotes.com/ along with my contact details for anyone who wants to get in touch and ask any questions about it. Basic information is that it's a fairly standard Fantasy setting and most characters who don't break the image of the game are alowed (i.e. no trying to blag a fantasy based cyborg or anything of that sort). Hope to see lots of you at the first session.

Hey My name is Kim, and I'm from Switzerland, I'm here for an exchanging year.
I would like to start with LARP, though I've never played before...
But I'm an activ roleplayer for now aprox. 2 years (mainly D&D).
I couldn't find contact informations on your website, so I decided to write you this way.

Would it be possible to start with LARP in your group?

Greetings Kim

I can't see there being a problem with it. Ben's always looking for more players.

His email address is

And yes, while listing it might strictly not be allowed, he did list it on the LARP website - just not very clearly unless you read the entire front page which you're not likely to do if you're looking for contact details so please don't get on my back Lucy/Liam/Marc/Shevy...

Yes, no problem at all. The main aim of it is to get more people interested in LARP without them having to pay to visit one of the main national events. I'm off on holiday next week but will get the website updated with all necesary information before then.

And if it might be a problem, I have no problems with Yoda having posted my email on here. As he says, it's up on the site I linked to and I like potential players being able to get in touch...

Well now we have all that messy Data Protection stuff out of the way we can all get on with trying to find Ben more players :D

Good luck with it and I hope it all goes well when you get started.

For those who are interested in freezing their ass off, session two of Figureheads and Footnotes will be run on Saturday the 1st of Decemeber. The blurb is as follows:

Winter is now settling onto Springhaven Isle. With no wood to burn the villagers are not coping well, most of the fuel that is on the island is being imported through the outpost set up by the pirate lord Rippingale as most of those who venture near the woods now vanish without a trace. There are also tales coming from the closest vilages to the forest of night time raids being conducted by pirates, bearing off children, livestock and anything else they can take. Worst of all, when the corpses of these pirates are examined the next day they turn out to already be rotting and decaying.

The event will be at the Milenium Garden at Heriot-Watt University (near the Chaplaincy) meeting at 13.00 and hopefully finishing around 18.00. Can those who are interested and haven't already done so please send me character sheets in advance of this.

As usual, anyone interested can look at www.figureheadsandfootnotes.com or email me with any questions.
