Well after all this time (and only one other interview) I've finally got a job offer! It seems to have been one of those 'meant to be' things. I was already booked for a holiday up in Scotland when the interview letter came and the date fell within my holiday. At the time I didn't think that would be the visit to Edinburgh day...but then the driver of the coach announced that it would! So I didn't have to try and get to Edinburgh from New Lanark by bus and rail after all! I've not received the formal offer letter yet, but that will hopefully come shortly. Then I can hand in my notice and get going! :-) I wasn't getting offers of job interviews because a) I don't currently live in Edinburgh and b) everyone was in too much of a hurry to wait for me to give notice.
So no date of arrival at this moment, but when I do get that sorted out and moved up to Edinburgh I would very much like to find a fantasy, Sci Fi (not Star Trek TNG era setting, I've done that already) or Buffy game (or all three!) to get back into gaming with. If anyone's got games like that running and doesn't mind another player, I'll be there as soon as I can! :-)
I've also got to find some kind of rambling group to join so I'm not spending my free time exclusively sitting on my rear end! ;-)

(Edinburgh bound at last!)
Plus there's ORC in Edinburgh on a Saturday for roleplaying of all shapes and sizes. (and genres for that matter).
Dave game's at ORC Edinburgh
Playing : Nothing.
Running : D&D.
Planning : Cold City, Star Wars d20, Unknown Armies, AFMBE, More D&D, Brave New World, The End and XCrawl. If I get the time...
And if you sign up to GEAS or Watt-Gamers (you don't need to have ever been a student at either Uni to join them) you should be able to find something to suit you at either of them. Both tend to have around a dozen different games running on various nights. I think GEAS meet all day Sundays and Wednesdays and Watt-Gamers are Tuesday evenings, Thursday evenings and all day Sundays again...

NB: re. Geas, they won't be back on again until the new term for Edinburgh Uni. There will be some fun events planned for Freshers Week that you can join in on though.
Cheers,
Shevy
Congratulations on getting the job. I know how hard it is to find one around here (been looking for about a month now lol).
Anyway, If your looking for games, there is a RP club in Livingston (just outside Edinburgh) that play D&D, possibly more if there’s enough people there. You can get in touch with them here: http://roleplayers.meetup.com .
