Tea is good for you!

I mean we all knew it anyway. Tea's just the best drink in the world. I should know, its about all I drink these days.

Now scientists have proved what some of us have known all along. That tea is good for your health too :)

You obviously haven't been paying close enough attention to the UK Tea Council and their "Tea 4 Health" campaign: http://www.tea.co.uk/index.php?pgId=20

Tea is best. True fact.

Hmmm,
I havent been sleeping well for years and I figure I may be drinking too much Caffiene (coffee, tea it's all good:.)

so, I just commited heresy and bought a whole stack of Hippy tea (well decaffinated and fruit tea really)

How does this stuff fit into the wonderful world of tea?

Is it still tea?!!

definition of Tea:
Tea \Tea\, n. [Chin. tsh[=a], Prov. Chin. te: cf. F. th['e].]
1. The prepared leaves of a shrub, or small tree (Thea, or Camellia, Chinensis). The shrub is a native of China, but has been introduced to some extent into some other countries.

If its made with dried leaves from one of the above mentioned plants then its Tea. If not then it is (strictly speaking) a tisane of whatever kind of leaves you use.

ti·sane (tĭ-zăn', -zän')
n.
An herbal infusion or similar preparation drunk as a beverage or for its mildly medicinal effect.

That's just me being a pedant of course.

perhaps a little bit more information
than was required:.)

Hmm, going by that then I don't think
my Heath and heather apple and Cinnamon
fruit and herbal Infusions count as tea
(I think the give away is in the "Infusions":.)

but my Eleven O'Clock Organic
Caffiene free redbush tea Bags most certainly are... Hooray, I'm still drinking Tea:.)

(even if it Hippy tea:.(

The Drenai novels are definitely my favourite series by David Gemmell and yes, they do drink a lot of tisane between epic struggles against evil ;)
