Conpulsion was great. It was really nice to see so many of you lot again and to chat and catch up with whats been going on.
So, what happened at the con then? Well I saw lots of people, failed to play any games. This was even though I was supposed to be playing games and not working for once. So all in all it was a worse score than last year when I had the busiest stall I've ever run and spent the entire weekend exhausted; even then I managed to fit in a game of Apples to Apples on Sunday evening.
Shevy nearly gave me a heart attack during the charity auction but thats a story for another time. Those of you there know what I'm talking about and those who weren't will just have to ask me when you see me.
We raised over three and a half thousand pounds for charity, half of which is going to the The National Association for Colitis and Crohn's Disease (NACC). This is a charity thats close to my heart (or is bowel more appropriate...) as well as several others who were there.
Then there was the moment when a customer walked up to me with an extatic expression on their face and said "Thank god you're alive, they told me you'd died in theatre..." which was spectacular for me :)
Jamie Prentice made the sunday evening in the staff room memorable by interupting the rendition of how Eric the Bat came to be in my WFRP world with the question "So, can you still fart now you had the operation?". Priceless.
Oh and my favourite remark from the convention:
"So if your stoma shits in the bag and no-ones awake to hear it, does it make a sound...."
And finally I came back to work today as well. From now on I should be back in the shop most days for at least a couple of hours building up to doing a full week again in the near future. The current plan is to be back full time by the end of the month, just in time for my 30th birthday...
Oh well.
