Well, things are, or at least were doing well. The wound appears to be improving and the stoma, Clive, is behaving itself. The wounds left by the staples they removed last weekend appear to have healed up OK as well and I feel fine.
Then I slipped on the floor. We have Lino in the kitchen and my slippers were wet. Feet went in different directions and Liam tensed his tummy muscles without thinking. This hurt. In fact it was much akin to being swiftly kicked in the proverbials by a large man wearing steel toecapped boots. Needless to say I spent most of Thursday night laid up in bed trying to forget about the pain. Thankfully nothing seems to have been damaged.
This is me however. Not content doing it once, I managed to do it again last night too and now am in a whole lot more pain. Nothing is damaged though. The internal stitches don't feel torn and the outside all looks OK, it just hurts like hell.
That'll teach me to be stupid. I was only trying to cook dinner for everyone. Guess I won't be doing that again for a while :)
Anyway, apart from that there's not a lot to say from this end. I popped in to the shop yesterday and it all seems to be doing fine so thats good. Keep spending that money kids, I still have bills to pay ;)
I guess the only other thing to say here is one of thanks. Thanks to everyones kind words and inquiries after me. Thanks to Iain for taking over the running and management of the shop. Thanks to Shevy for giving up her Saturdays for the shop and for keeping me sane through all of this. And finally thanks to Lucy for not completely rearranging my shop while I've been gone and for looking afterthings too. You're all great.
Thanks.
- Liam
