Adverts. Daggnamit...

So you're sitting there, after one of the roughest days of the year since surgery and you finally get some time to yourself. You know what its like, a bad day at work, a couple of beers at your local and it all turns sour so you go home..

and turn the TV on...

and find a programe you want to watch...

and its somthing important thats happening...

and then they throw in an advert break...

[insert blashemy here]

[insert another blashemy here]

[insert yet another blashemy here]

so...

adverts. I understand why. someone has to pay for these programmes...

Why! Oh god why! I mean, come on. Does it have to be here! Right now? in the middle of this? And does it have to be a pointless advert for a show about a really ugly girl who's a model? Does it have to be an advert about Vodka? Does it have to be a slap happy shiny-go-lucky-promise-you-the-world-in-technicolor advert?

Maybe its just me, but having been to America and Canada, I really appreciate not having adverts. If you think its bad now just wait another couple of years.

Adverts. Its the reason why people buy boxed sets or even individual DVD's or videos online. Or even (and I do disagree vith this on a moral levl) illegally download shows online.

Gorram adverts.

So. I hates them. I hate the way they ruin my experience of a show, or a film or whatever I'm watching. They destroy the suspension of disbelief (what little you have with Hollywood) and all the fun that comes with it.

So there ends another rant, and probably the last for the year before the round up, which is coming soon...

Especially those ones where you've just sat through the title sequence then a certain annoying sponsorship pops up then the ad's. Arrrgh.

As much as I hate to say it, its the main reason I love Sky+ (hate saying it cos Sky are evil and get too much of my money) we hardly ever see adverts now except at 30x speed.

Got to the point where people say, "oh have you seen such and such an advert its really, annoying/funny/stupid.." and I'm like, no actually I haven't. To the point we've actually stopped and rewound the adverts to see what folks are on about. Sad. Managed to avoid the dreaded frosties one for weeks before we first saw it.

I don't mind adverts generally, but it annoys me that they place them at plot points, etc.

I know why they do it - it's so you'll keep watching - but I still don't like it and quite often find myself skipping channels to find something to watch instead of the adverts...
