Dreamblade $1k - Edinburgh

Submitted by Georgie on 2 October 2006 - 1:45pm.

WOW !!

Basically, WOW !! What more can I say?

As if any of you didn't know by now, the nice people at Black-Lion games have captured one of only six $1K Dreamblade Tournaments and are holding it in Edinburgh. Wizards are very keen on promoting Dreamblade at the moment and prize support should be great.

From their website :

1K Tournaments: At a 1K event, the winner receives $500 and 1000 points. Those 1000 points will ensure you get great prizes for showing up to future 1K and 10K events, plus it qualifies you for the Dream Series Championship that year. Prizes are given out all the way to 32nd place, and everyone who attends gets a minimum of 50 points. There are a lot of 1K events across the country, meaning you and your friends have a good shot at winning sweet prizes

So, it's prizes down to 32nd place. Pretty good for your £10 entry fee.

Details : Victoria Park Hotel 12th November.
Entry will be £10, constructed, 11 am registration. Also, Baxar's war will be legal in this Tournament.

Please join me in thanking the hard working Black-Lion team for bringing this event to Edinburgh.

Please post you name here if you are planning on going.

See you there....

Its on Ferry Road - a little further on from the Morrisons and the Inverleith playing fields. Its clearly signposted from the outside, although parking may be a difficulty.

I think I can say that everyone who attended seemed to enjoy themselves from the moment I arrived to the very last die roll in the final.

It was a pleasure to run and I look forward to hosting more big Dreamblade events in the future and seeing many more new faces too :)

Thanks to everyone who came along and I would like to say a special thanks to Lucy, because without her it never would have happened in the first place.

Be it ever so humble, there's no place like my shop :)

I would just like to echo Liams' sentiments. Everyone I spoke to enjoyed the day and said that it was extremely well organised and that they would definitely come back to another event in Edinburgh. I think we might need a bigger room for the next year!

I would personally like to apologise for taking an appallingly long time to play in the Final but nerves were frayed and brains were melted by then . Everyone who stayed on either missed an appointment or ran foul of their spouses/partners, I can’t apologise enough. Thank you to all of you who stayed and supported me in the final as I truly believe that without your support I would have lost.

It was great to see 4 Scottish players in the top 5, an outstanding achievement, all thanks to the Black-Lion team organising Edge events for us to practice at.

Biggest thanks of the post must go to Lucy, without her none of this would have been possible………thanks Lucy, Dreamblade Players Love U :-)

Hi

Thanks again to Lucy and Liam for running this fun day.

All the games I had were pretty exciting, but I would advice anyone who makes it to the semis to take a lot of coffee with them!! I'm sure both myself and George fell asleep during our match :)

Well done again to George, and to all the players for a great day.

Liam/Lucy

Is it possible to publish some of the many photographs that were taken on the day on this Website?

I also believe that Lucy was going to list the winning warbands.

Many Thanks,

Warbands will be up soon. Meant to do it last week but the flu jab had other plans.... I'm going to write an article and include some of the warbands there. Glad everyone had a good time and congrats to all our local players who did so damn well.
